BIA Online Info Forum 2021

On October 28, 2021, BIA presented the second edition of its Online Info Forum. With the event broadcast live from the BIA headquarters in Solingen, the company gave its business partners an informative and entertaining overview of current topics and developments in the automotive industry and the group of companies for the second time.

The focus of this year's forum was on the topics of climate neutrality and sustainability. Dr. Markus Dahlhaus, Managing Director Technology, led the program. And it had a lot to offer:

First, Johannes Groß, Head of Continuous Improvement and Energy Management Officer of the BIA Group, explained the BIA Group's Climate Strategy 2025 in a video presentation.

Dr. Markus Häp, Automotive Technology Manager, dedicated his contribution to the recycling of chrome components and the use of recyclates for sustainable product design in automotive engineering.

For his part, moderator Markus Dahlhaus had prepared a contribution on the substitution of chromium trioxide in electroplating and the current status in the authorization procedures surrounding the REACh issue.

Finally, Dr. Felix Heinzler, Head of Development and Process Technology at BIA, gave an overview of the latest surface technologies at BIA. The focus here was on the development of an electroplatable foil that can be used both for the realization of complex structures and designs, for combination with other decors or for functional integration.

The program was rounded off by two discussion rounds, in which the speakers once again clarified and brought to the point the statements made in their presentations and also answered questions from the audience.
